aw man, too real

Wow this is actually fucking great dude, the dialouge, sound design and voices killed me and I love the visual style. You knocked it out of the park, this raised my expectations of what people can make for animation jams honestly, amazing work to all of you!!

You know the high renaissance correct? One of the most defining pieces of art from that era is the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci. For centuries this painting has encapsulated the awe and wonder of humans and for many more centuries it will do so. The piece is timeless, nothing seems like it could ever come close to the universal recognition that it has. Until a man named Cam uploaded his movie “woah sharks” to Newgrounds.com. The music, the elegance of the sharks bouncing up and done as the play their hearts out with their trumpets, it is perfection in an mp4 format. People from all over the world gather to watch woah sharks everyday, even more so than the Mona Lisa. The instant fame over night shows that Cam is one of the world’s most ingenious artists of not just our time, but of all time. There will never be anything ever again that could possibly rival the sheer brilliance that is “woah sharks”.

This is really incredible, the way you handle the camera and 3D environment is seamlessly beautiful <3
I'm actually wondering how you choreographed all the environmental damage so flawlessly, was it animation first and camera tracking second? Actually as im writing this, I just noticed you said this was all Blender! That's a serious testament to the advantages of it with hybrid animation like this, im stunned from how well you mixed the two mediums and assumed it was all a heavy mix of flash/aftereffects/premiere and more.

The animation looks awesome and there's a never-ending barrage of visual gags/references; all complemented by really tight sound design! There's a lot of fight scene animations in the scene but this manages to feel really fresh and fun, great work and I'm looking forward to more stuff from you!

If i had to pick out one drawback, I think the colors could use some work to feel less dry; some of the games you payed homage to like MvC2 have really rich colorful palettes, and taking inspiration from them could make the drawings pop more from the environment or just emphasize the pastiche. But solid work nonetheless!!

Shnubby responds:

Thanks alot Ivan. Yeah i made this animation just to learn how to use Blender

Absolutely gorgeous, the environments are insanely detailed and dynamically animated around the characters! I'm especially stunned by the water effects both above ground with light bending/reflection and splashes, into the subsurface effects of sunlight. This is all really well composed and a stunning display of art!!

cool homage!

lol nice

Great stuff dude, I dig how you colored in unconventional palettes and it’s directed well! Also dope expressions and timing to the music

Excellent poses!! The animation is real snappy and delivers satisfying impacts with additional flair with the effects, and the aberration is a cool touch!
